Global Environments
"Environmental scanning is defined "monitoring, abstraction, analysis, synthesis and communication of environmental information". The environmental scanning system can identify important emerging issues that may constitute either obstacles or opportunities. This process helps actors and institutions allocate their resources in a way that anticipates or responds to changes in the external environment. Environmental scanning, is said to focus on five knowledge areas. These are: economics, technology, politics, ecology and social/cultural factors."
