ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Learning and education shape tomorrow by giving individuals
tools for navigating the emerging world. Moreover, educational
systems and learning environments in business have a major
impact on national innovation and competitiveness. All this
entails not only responsibility but also a great opportunity to
take hold of the future by making conscious choices in the
design of creative environments – both for learning and work.
Recent studies on the future of learning have presented
dramatically different perspectives on the world of education
from the one we see today. Technological progress and programmes
geared to improving collective intelligence are changing the
world in which future students and knowledge workers will learn.
Many experts see the future of learning as more and more driven
by networks, the development of social media, personalised
education, problem-based and work place learning. A common
feature in different views on the future of learning is placing
the student at the centre of the educational system. The walls
keeping educational institutes and the rest of society apart are
becoming lower and thinner. The same changes, bringing with them
both challenges and opportunities, will be faced both by
educational institutes and business organizations.
The conference "Grasping the Future – A Challenge for
Learning and Innovation" challenges linear thinking and promotes
futures literacy both in education and business environments. We
offer visionary keynote speakers, public debates as well as
demonstrations of current innovative practices that may well
pave the way for new approaches to learning and innovation.
