The idea of the June 2001 seminar was to focus particularly on scenario building. We liked to take the chance to profit from our common Nordic effort in the field of scenario building. Generally speaking, day one (June 6) dealt with topics like "The main features of scenario thinking", "The dimensions of scenarios", "Differences in the application of scenarios". On Thursday, June 7, we then discussed more specific questions as e.g. "Megatrends and weak signals", "The limitation of scenarios" or "Scenario building and strategy work". The seminar ended with a panel discussion on the topic "Is there a Nordic perspective in the process of scenario building?".

During the two-day seminar, we focused in particular on the following questions being discussed in 4 different workshops:

The Seminar on Scenario Building gathered together 120 participants from Finland and other countries like the Nordic countries, UK, Belgium, Morocco, the Netherlands, Estonia and Germany.
